The new model, introduced by Xi'an Railway Station Customs, breaks the traditional requirement of unified declaration and release procedures, significantly reducing cargo waiting time and helping enterprises cut storage-related costs.
At the monitoring and command center of Xi'an Railway Station Customs, logistics data is updated in real time. Through intelligent logistics supervision platforms, customs officers can quickly access declaration numbers, container information, and cargo details.
Digital supervision has reduced approval procedures from an average of four hours to just five minutes. AI-based data recognition and automatic verification technologies have also shortened inspection preparation time and improved overall clearance efficiency.
For logistics companies, the improvement means more transparency and convenience. Enterprises can now check container clearance status and transportation information through digital platforms, reducing repeated communication and improving operational efficiency.
In addition to smart customs services, policy support has also helped reduce costs for companies using China-Europe Railway Express services.
Recently, a China-Europe Railway Express return shipment carrying Siberian spruce boards arrived in Xi'an. After customs review, more than RMB 180,000 of domestic railway transportation costs were excluded from the taxable value calculation, reducing the company's tax burden by over RMB 15,000.
The deduction of domestic transportation costs for return cargo transported by China-Europe Railway Express is an important customs measure designed to support foreign trade stability and help enterprises reduce operational expenses.
In the first ten months of this year, China-Europe Railway Express services from Xi'an reached 5,063 trains, an increase of 16.2% year-on-year, maintaining Xi'an’s position as one of China's leading railway logistics hubs.
Xi'an International Port Station has become the first railway station in China to exceed 30,000 China-Europe Railway Express departures, accounting for more than one-quarter of the country's total operations.
Through dedicated customs service channels, green clearance procedures, and 24/7 support teams, Xi'an Railway Station Customs provides continuous support for efficient China-Europe Railway Express operations.
As of November 13, Xi'an had operated 651 China-Europe Railway Express timetable services, accounting for more than half of the national total. These scheduled services reduce transportation time by more than 30% compared with standard trains, while costs remain significantly lower than air freight.
The Trans-Caspian route has also become a new growth point. By the end of October, Xi'an had operated 563 China-Europe Railway Express services via the Trans-Caspian corridor, representing more than 80% of China's total operations on this route.
Connecting China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, and Europe, the rail-sea-rail corridor provides another option for Eurasian supply chains, with the fastest transit time reaching approximately 11 days.
