Recently, accompanied by the sound of a departure whistle, a China-Europe Railway Express (Shenzhen) train carrying RMB 20 million worth of “Greater Bay Area manufactured” products, including home appliances, clothing and toys, departed from Pinghu South National Logistics Hub. The train will exit China through the Erenhot Railway Port and travel directly to Selyatino Station in Moscow, marking the official launch of China’s first premium China-Europe Railway Express service running directly to Moscow via the Erenhot port.
The train is expected to reach Moscow within 16 days, shortening transit time by approximately 27% compared with previous conventional services on similar routes. “The launch of this premium route has reduced the transportation time on the same corridor from 22 days to 16 days. It also avoids the risks of unstable transit times associated with sea freight, significantly improving cross-border logistics efficiency and creating tangible benefits for companies expanding overseas,” said Hu Bo, Sales Manager of Shenzhen Jiayuda E-commerce Technology Co., Ltd.
Xu Zhenkang, Chief of the Inspection Division of Sungang Customs under Shenzhen Customs, said that to promote the high-quality development of the China-Europe Railway Express, Shenzhen Customs has continuously optimized supervision and service mechanisms. A series of business-friendly measures have been implemented, including railway fast customs clearance and return-trip freight cost reduction policies.
At the same time, customs authorities provide 24/7 appointment-based clearance services, enabling containers to be inspected and released immediately upon arrival. These measures ensure efficient customs procedures at ports and support the smooth export operation of China-Europe Railway Express services.
Currently, the China-Europe Railway Express (Shenzhen) has become a “golden logistics channel” for Shenzhen manufacturers expanding into global markets, providing full-chain support for industrial internationalization.
In terms of network development, by mid-August 2025, Shenzhen had established 27 regular China-Europe Railway Express routes covering 47 countries and regions. This network enables a wide range of Shenzhen-made products, from traditional categories such as home appliances and clothing to high-value products including automobiles and components, smart electronic equipment and machinery, to efficiently reach markets across Eurasia.
The service has also introduced innovative models such as “cross-border e-commerce + premium railway express,” expanding export channels for cross-border e-commerce products while creating two-way trade links. While transporting Shenzhen-made products worldwide, the service also brings high-quality goods from countries along the routes back to China, helping Shenzhen enterprises integrate deeper into global industrial and supply chains.
According to Shenzhen Customs statistics, from January to November, China-Europe Railway Express (Shenzhen) services operated 177 export trains, with cargo value reaching RMB 5.84 billion. Train volume and cargo value increased by 40.5% and 27.5% year-on-year respectively, providing strong support for the stability of international industrial and supply chains for enterprises in Shenzhen and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
