On January 1, 2026, a China-Europe Railway Express train departed from Wuhan Central Railway Station, carrying cargo including fresh air ventilation systems and other industrial products, bound for Copenhagen, Denmark. The new service marks the first new international route launched by Hanou International Logistics (Wuhan) in the new year, further strengthening logistics connections between Hubei Province and the Nordic market.
The new Wuhan-Copenhagen rail freight service will depart China through the Alashankou border port and arrive in Hamburg, Germany. Some shipments will then be transferred through established rail-sea intermodal transportation networks before reaching Copenhagen. The total transit time is expected to be approximately 22 days.
Before the launch of the Copenhagen route, China-Europe Railway Express Wuhan had already established connections with several Northern European destinations, including Helsinki in Finland, Oslo and Moss in Norway, and Gothenburg in Sweden. The new service further extends Wuhan’s China-Europe rail network into Northern Europe and provides businesses with more flexible and reliable cross-border logistics options.
To ensure smooth operation of the new route, Hanou International Logistics worked closely with Wuhan Railway authorities, customs agencies, China Railway Container Transport and Wuhan Central Railway Station to optimize operational procedures and improve coordination efficiency. From January 1 to January 3, Hanou International Logistics plans to operate 27 inbound and outbound China-Europe Railway Express services, representing an 80% increase compared with the same period in 2025.
Hubei Province has established long-term economic and trade cooperation mechanisms with Nordic countries. In the future, China-Europe Railway Express Wuhan will continue expanding its Northern Europe network, improving international rail connectivity and supporting more efficient China-Europe trade and supply chain development.
