In the first quarter of 2026, the Central Corridor of the China-Europe Railway Express achieved record-breaking performance. Erenhot Railway Port, a key hub along the corridor, handled 1,145 China-Europe freight trains, transporting 110,200 TEUs of cargo with a total weight of 946,400 tons. Compared with the same period last year, the figures increased by 22.3%, 14.6%, and 19.7% respectively, marking a historic high in train throughput.
As an important platform under the Belt and Road Initiative, the China-Europe Railway Express has continued to expand its Eurasian logistics network in recent years. In January 2026, Erenhot Railway Port launched a new China-Europe freight train route connecting Solombalka and Weizizhen, further improving the efficiency and coverage of cross-border rail transportation.
Currently, Erenhot Railway Port operates 75 China-Europe Railway Express routes, connecting more than 70 major logistics hubs across over 10 countries, including Germany and Poland. The port also links with most major departure cities of the China-Europe Railway Express network in China, providing efficient rail freight solutions for international trade between Asia and Europe.
