Nanning has strengthened its role as an international logistics hub connecting China and ASEAN markets. According to the latest foreign trade development briefing, the China-Vietnam cross-border express rail service has entered regular operation, enabling cargo to be dispatched, delivered and cleared through customs within the same day.
In recent years, Nanning has accelerated the development of international logistics corridors serving Southeast Asia. The city has established an integrated transportation network combining railway, road and air logistics, providing efficient connections between China and ASEAN countries.
The China-Vietnam cross-border express rail service has significantly improved transportation efficiency. The scheduled weekly services have increased from three to fourteen trains, with the fastest station-to-station transit time reduced to approximately 14 hours. Cargo can now achieve same-day departure, arrival and customs clearance, offering businesses a faster and more reliable cross-border logistics option.
In 2025, China-Vietnam railway freight services handled 37,000 TEUs of export cargo, representing year-on-year growth of 86%. The service now covers 455 categories of goods, with shipments collected from 25 provinces across China, further expanding the China-ASEAN supply chain network.
Beyond railway transportation, Nanning has also developed a comprehensive ASEAN-oriented logistics system integrating highways and air freight. The city has established international cargo routes connecting Southeast Asia and South Asia, creating a more efficient regional logistics network for fresh products, manufacturing goods and high-value commodities.
With improved transportation infrastructure and faster customs clearance services, Nanning continues to enhance its position as a key gateway for China-ASEAN trade, supporting companies seeking more efficient cross-border supply chain solutions.
