China-Europe Railway Express (Zhengzhou) Launches Duisburg Route, Strengthening Rail Connectivity with Germany

Published: April 26, 2026

On April 26, at 10:25 a.m., a China-Europe Railway Express (Zhengzhou) train departed from Zhengzhou International Hub Station, carrying new energy vehicles, mechanical components, photovoltaic products and other cargo. The first train, consisting of 55 containers, will travel through the Alashankou border port and pass through Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus and Poland before arriving in Duisburg, Germany. The launch of this route increases the number of European direct destinations served by China-Europe Railway Express (Zhengzhou) to 12, further improving its overseas logistics network.

Zhengzhou-Duisburg China-Europe Railway Express Route Opens

Duisburg is one of Europe's most important rail freight hubs and home to the world's largest inland port. Known as the “logistics heart of Europe”, Duisburg benefits from an extensive railway and road transportation network, allowing goods to be efficiently distributed throughout Germany as well as neighboring markets such as the Netherlands and France.

With the launch of the Zhengzhou-Duisburg route, China-Europe Railway Express (Zhengzhou) will further strengthen its presence in Western Europe. Together with existing destinations including Hamburg and Munich, the new service will create a more comprehensive transportation network covering Germany's major industrial regions and logistics hubs.

Products manufactured in Henan, including furniture, household goods and metal building materials from cities such as Jiaozuo, Xuchang and Luoyang, will also be transported to Europe via this route. Leveraging Duisburg's distribution advantages, these products can be efficiently delivered to markets including Belgium and the Netherlands, helping Chinese manufacturers reduce logistics costs, improve delivery reliability and expand their European business.

To ensure smooth operation of the new service, Zhengzhou customs authorities have provided dedicated support through appointment-based clearance services and China-Europe Railway Express customs channels. Measures including railway fast clearance, inspection before loading and departure-port tax refund services have helped shorten customs processing time and improve overall logistics efficiency.

As an important international logistics hub in central China, China-Europe Railway Express (Zhengzhou) has developed a comprehensive network featuring 27 overseas direct destinations and 9 entry-exit ports. The service now connects more than 40 countries and over 140 cities, supported by more than 8,000 domestic and international partners.

From its initial single-route operation to today's multi-destination international logistics network, China-Europe Railway Express (Zhengzhou) has become a key platform connecting China's manufacturing sector with global markets and supporting trade cooperation between China and Europe.

Moving forward, Zhengzhou logistics operators will continue expanding European routes, improving transportation efficiency and enhancing service capabilities to provide more stable and efficient China-Europe rail freight solutions for global customers.
